Auto scaling, which allows its customers to scale their Amazon EC2 capacity up or down automatically during demanding spikes and lulls to achieve high availability in most cost-effective manner possible.

Need for scale able, cost-effective architecture made Ahmed and Shelly (co-founders Aero-Care) switch from their leased servers in a co-located data center to AWS. This helped them cut costs and attain 99.99% availability for their latest venture Deputy.com. Ahmed also quoted that “AWS has a compelling combination of performance combined with rapid innovation at the lowest cost available”.
